Polyurethane Foam Spray Insulation
In this article, what does polyurethane, a polymer substance, mean, where and how polyurethane is used, is polyurethane foam used between the roof? We will answer what its purpose is, what it does… We will address questions such as what is polyurethane, where polyurethane material is used in construction sites and daily life, is it healthy? It is a two-component system formed by spraying polyol and polyisocyanate with proportioning, high pressure machines. Polyurethane rigid foam is a cellular, closed-cell, high-density insulation and construction material. Thanks to the low thermal permeability of the blowing agent trapped inside the cells, it is the most preferred material for the insulation of cold storages. It is the most efficient insulation material at the lowest thickness. Lightweight and long lasting. It is produced in 40 (+/- 2) kg/m3 density in appropriate thickness and dimensions selected according to the storage conditions. It has no joints, prevents all kinds of heat and water leakage, does not form a thermal bridge. It has the best heat insulation coefficient known.( = 0,022 W/mk) Since it provides twice better insulation compared to classical insulation materials, the desired insulation value is achieved with a thinner thickness. Since its density is high, it can be walked on. (35 Kg/m3 – 60 Kg/m3) – Resistant to temperatures between -50 C / +100 C. It is in DIN 4102 combustion norm. It is in B2- combustion class.
Polyurethane foam insulation can be widely used in different areas in the building and construction sector. We need to state that polyurethane foam is generally preferred for insulation. Especially in filling the gaps, polyurethane foams are used in sound and heat insulation construction works. Polyurethane foams are produced ready to use in tubes. A polyurethane foam material used expands up to 30 times its maximum. Polyurethane foams are used to close cracks, gaps or fractures between walls and doors, especially to fill the air remaining in the form of gaps. Almost everyone can use polyurethane foams. It is easy to use thanks to its pistol-style apparatus. For example, in case of ceiling leakage, you can easily apply it yourself and eliminate the leakage on the ceiling.

Polyurethane foams are used a lot during door and window installation. It is used in electrical installations, insulation of hot water and cold water pipes and roof insulation due to its impermeability feature. Polyurethane material is frequently used not only in home construction works but also in the repair of ships and yachts.
